Management Summary and introduction[bearbeiten]

DMD2 produces highly individualized radio programs for business customers. In order to do so, we rely on a large, centralized music repertoire.

To manage this large music repertoire (more than 300'000 files up to date), an application shall be engineered. this application, working title DMD2 Music Explorer shall base on a Architecture, that is able to scale in the future. furthermore the application shall be properly documented and be expandable by different persons.

wherever possible, Open-Source software and standard technologies shall be used.

DMD2 Music Explorer shall support managing of the music database of DMD2 in different phases/use-cases:

• adding of new music to the database
• managing and metadata-enriching of the music
• relational linking of the music data (e.g. "similar artist", "influenced artist", "genres", "moods", etc. )
• pre-listening of tracks without having to download them
• generating of playlists with definable selection criteria (SQL)
• messaging towards labels and/or program managers
